Note: The inclusion of the following links is provided
to assist in your study of the Scriptures and living out of the Christian
life in the fullness of the Holy Spirit and in the fullness of life that
is in the Lord Jesus Christ. We have included a wide variety of links
to websites that will encourage the Christian community in the Scriptures
and with reference to the doctrines of the historic Christian
faith (from sources both past and present). Our prayer and desire is that
these will be of great spiritual benefit and blessing to you. Biblical
discernment is always appropriate for a page such as this; and at Alive
In Christ Ministries, we encourage you to be like the Bereans of Acts
17:11 who "....received the Word with all readiness of mind,
and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so...."
In a listing of this size, there would be some areas with which we would
have differences in opinion, doctrine and theology......and with which
we, therefore, would exercise the caution of Biblical discernment ourselves....and
encourage the user to do the same. At Alive In Christ Ministries, we believe
in having as solid a foundation in biblical theology and doctrine as is
possible. However, we also believe that such biblical doctrine must be
wrapped up in the love of Jesus Christ...and thus it is likewise important
(if not more so) that we remember how that Jesus said "....they will know
that you are My disciples by the love that you have for one another,"
(John 13:35). Therefore, as you peruse the various links on this page,
we would trust that you would remember these things, in Jesus' name. NOTE:
The Alive In Christ Ministries Links Page is periodically updated. We

However, there is much good and helpful material to be found here....and

(This is a very large and helpful library of Bible Research and study
tools/materials. Bible Studies Foundation has collected a wealth of material
from various evangelical perspectives. Be sure to stop in at their "External
Links" section. It is one of the best links sections I have ever seen.
There are excerpts stored here from both the Westminster Theological Journal
and the Bibliotheca Sacra [Dallas Theological Seminary] Full archives
are now available only on CD-Rom through the Bible Studies Foundation.
This website is well-done, well-written, well- maintained, and has lots
of articles useful for both research and sermon/teaching/Bible-study preparation...and
will be a blessing to anyone who stops in).

David has a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

for over 40 years. It is now under the capable eldership of pastors Steve

website is well-cone and well-maintained...and has numberous pages and
links to other sites. For example, it has the complete Ray C Stedman Memorial
Library, some of which is on RealAudio. It also has the sermon libraries
of some of the past pastors [such as Dave Roper, Ron Ritchie, and Bob
Smith. It contains all of the PBC Leadership Position Papers, as well

BIBLE PROPHECY
Note: As indicated above, one should be a true Berean (Acts 17:11) when dealing with the subject of eschatology. We recognize that there is a problem among some dispensational prophecy speakers to interpret Bible prophecy according to the newspaper instead of allowing the Bible to speak for itself with regard to the future. While Alive In Christ Ministries is dispensational, pre-millenial,and pre-tribulational in its eschatology, and while we recognize the biblical distinction between the church and Israel, we caution against the pervasiveness of sensationalism among some prophecy teachers who interpret certain prophetic scriptures in ways that are not in keeping with even the basic grammatical-historical (and literal) hermeneutic. Because of the preceding, we are in the process of revising this section of the links page, which will include a rating-system of sorts with cautions regarding sensationalism where we feel they are needed. (Pastor Steve Faubion) This is my home church. Our family was involved in this church from 1955-1961; and I had the blessing of experiencing a significant time of ministry here in the summer of 1968. This church-fellowship had a great impact in the lives of so many men and women over the years and continues to minister to the lives of so many to the present day. I am so thankful for the lives of so many in this church who encouraged me to live the wonderful discover of the Spirit-filled life and to be grounded in the Scriptures.
My memories of the blessings that Calvary Church has been to my life go back to the1950's. I was a part of Calvary Church from 1955-1961, then 1968-69 (back in the days of the "Way Inn").....if you have one of the old Calvary Church members directory from the old days...you'll find my dad in there (Paul Hansen), he was Sunday School superintendant.... My aunt and uncle (Richard and Ruth Beede) were members there for years...(they're both now in heaven...) Joe and Lee Hawkins took good care of me in Sunday School in those early days....they're both in heaven also....I think I drove everyone to heaven (I was a train-wreck as a kid....along with Bobbie Harris, Billy Reynolds, Russ Veenker, etc...)...but somehow the Lord in His loving mercy brought me through....and I know that my time at CC in those early days was a big part of that..... After moving to Alaska in 1961, I remember receiving monthly newsletters from Calvary Church that had information on all the things God was doing there at CC.
In the late 1960's there was a large contingent of college young people who were with Campus Crusade For Christ...and that group, along with Linus and Sharon Morris (who were just starting Christian Associates) , Hap and Dottie Larson (and a host of others) had a great influence on my life and walk with the Lord.
It was through the ministry of Calvary Church during the summer of 1968 that I was encouraged and motivated to the ministry of the Word; and was encouraged by them as well to attend both Biola University (BS in Christian Education 1981) and Talbot Theological Seminary (MDiv in Systematic Theology, 1984)....and I am now in sort of a "pastoral transition" period in my journey.....loving our Lord and just enjoying every moment of my life and walk with Him.
Ralph Hetrick was the pastor at the time I was there at Calvary Church; and he was my true friend....he really encouraged me in the Lord...I will always be grateful to our Lord for that. So many other things I could share.....like the summer of 1968....the influence of the Jesus Movement....This was a great church-fellowship to be at...and still is
In my heart, I have always had such a great love for Calvary Church...and am so incrediby blessed to know that they have done so well in the sharing of the Scriptures and reflecting a life flowing in the Holy Spirit...and living out what Jesus meant when He said "...and they will know you are My disciples by your love for one another..."

CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATES INTERNATIONAL - Christian Associates was launched in 1968 by Linus and Sharon Morris with the goal of reaching the emerging "baby boom" generation with the truths of Christianity through innovative outreach and discipleship. Our first venture was the 'Jesus Christ Light & Power House' near the campus of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). We had a relational evangelism focus as well as a training emphasis to help students toward spiritual maturity. We were constantly trying new things in order to attract people to Christ and equip them for ministry.
In the 1970s we began to take some of the students on international sports evangelism excursions. Our 'News Release' basketball tours were an effective means for outreach as well as a discipleship tool in the lives of these young Christian athletes. As we traveled, our eyes were opened to the need for innovative ministry in other parts of the world. In Europe we discovered a profound secularism and nominal Christianity. Surprisingly, many who heard the gospel were open and responsive, but they had little or no contact with a vital church where they could develop their faith. After a century of decline, the churches of Europe as a whole had lost their effectiveness. The need for new expressions of the church became evident.
It was at that time that we decided to launch such a church in Europe. In 1980, Crossroads Evangelical Church of Geneva was born, targeting the numerous English- speaking internationals of that city. Many became Christians or were revitalized in their faith as a result of the ministry of the Crossroads.
Still, we felt that we had more to learn about how to structure a church for ongoing growth and effectiveness. So in 1984, part of our leadership team left Geneva and returned to the United States to gain further insights from churches in America that had been experiencing explosive growth. During that period, our thinking about the church developed, ultimately becoming what we referred to as "the high-impact church."
In 1987 we moved into Amsterdam to test the high-impact approach. After about four years, with Crossroads International Church of Amsterdam established, we began multiplying high-impact churches in other European cities. A key lesson we learned in this process is the importance of leadership development. Healthy churches require healthy leaders, and so, CA became much more intentional in identifying and developing leaders.
We are seeking to catalyze a grassroots movement of reproducing missional/incarnational churches that will reach into today's emerging culture. We currently have works in over 30 European cities. We also have projects in three South American cities and seven North American cities
